Today I’m pleased to welcome my fellow author Missy Jane to the blog. Missy has brought along Sean Maxwell with her to answer a few questions. Based on the book cover, he’s someone I want to know better! Take it away, Missy!
They Call Me Max
Sean Maxwell is an ex-Marine, the manager of the grocery store, Hardy’s All Goods, in Houston, and a self-professed neat-freak. His hobbies include running, working out at the gym, and trying out new recipes. Recently he was seen around town with his neighbor Megan Nettle, but he’s been very tight lipped about that. Let’s give a warm welcome to Sean!
Missy: Sean, I’m so glad you agreed to be interviewed today. I know you’ve been a little wary since the media frenzy over Mari and Devon Campbell a few months ago.
Sean: Yes, thank you. I was a little bothered by having cameras shoved in my face because Mari used to work for me at the store. It’s calmed down quite a bit now. And by the way, there’s no such thing as an ex Marine.
Missy: Oh! So sorry, I actually had been told that before. So, tell us what life is like now that you’re no longer an active Marine.
Sean: (grins) Well, as you mentioned, I manage Hardy’s. It’s actually more than a grocery store. We have a little of pretty much everything. So, my days are usually pretty busy. It’s kind of hard to keep that kind of chaos in order, but I enjoy my job.
Missy: I’ve been told by our mutual friend Megan that you do an excellent job at keeping Hardy’s organized and your staff under control. Do you try to keep things controlled at home too?
Sean: (sigh) You talked to Megan?
Missy: Yup. In fact I’m interviewing her later this week.
Sean: (grimace) Oh. Well, yeah I like control and I like everything in its place. Megan…she’s a bit exasperating. I mean, she’s a great gal. I really like her as a person…
Sean: But? Um…Let’s just say she isn’t afraid to go for what she wants.
Missy: (laughs) And from all accounts what she wants is you. Playing hard to get, huh?
Sean: Not on purpose! Look, my life the past year has been pretty simple. Then all of a sudden this beautiful, young woman shows up in it and isn’t afraid to say the first thing that comes to her mind. No matter what it is or who is around. You should hear her talk to me when I’m out running!
Missy: Oh yeah. She’s told me all about how great you look in your red shorts. But I do believe she said she prefers the way the blue ones mold your as—
Sean: See? What kind of lady talks like that?
Missy: (giggles) Oh Sean, don’t be afraid of Megan. She’s such a sweet thing. She’s going to tie you up in knots but then she’ll help straighten you out again.
Sean: (snorts) She already has.
Missy: Well! I do believe we’re out of time, and it’s getting a bit hot in here as I think about Sean’s blue shorts. So if you’d like more of Sean, be sure to read his new book, Two Dates Max!
And as an added bonus for leaving a comment today, you will be entered into a drawing for a free book from my back list. Please add your email address to your comment, and I’ll choose a winner tomorrow morning via random.org. At the end of my blog tour all commenters will be entered to win the grand prize of a Missy Jane tote bag full of gently used books. Good luck!
*Make reading a guilty pleasure…*
He loves me, he loves me not. He loves me…okay, the truth is he doesn’t really like me right now, but I have a plan to change his mind. I see the way he looks at me with heat in his eyes. Sean Maxwell might be a confirmed bachelor, but a taste of Ms. Megan Nettle is just what he needs to soften his hard exterior. And once I get him in my bed, he won’t want to leave. There’s nothing some hot lovin’ can’t fix.
But my persistence backfires when he decides he’s too dangerous for little ol’ me. Something in his past is driving a wedge between us, and he’s determined to stay away. That’s not going to happen. This calls for some serious seduction. I’ll use those sparks between us to melt away his rule of two dates max.

Ms. Missy Jane is the alter ego of a married mother of four who was born and raised in Texas. A few years ago she finished reading a book by Mercedes Lackey and thought “Now, what if…” and a monster was created. Missy now spends most of her time lost in worlds of her own making, alternately loving and hating such creatures as vampires, shape-shifters and gargoyles (to name a few). When not writing, she spends her time reading, taking photos of her beautiful daughters and training her husband to believe she’s always right. She lives near Houston and doesn’t understand why everyone hasn’t moved to the South.
