BDSM blog hop BDSM Unleashed Blog Hoppity!

Welcome to the BDSM Unleashed Blog Hop, hosted by myself and the other fabulous authors in the BDSM Authors Playroom Blog. I’ll be posting on the Playroom Blog on the 18th about making BDSM fun, but I thought here I’d talk about my first experience writing FemDom.

Ellora’s Cave put out a special sub call named Ball & Chain – basically, married couples trying to spice up their sex lives. I’ve written two BDSM books, Caught and Impact, but decided it would be fun to write from the other point of view – a female Domme and a male sub. And man, was I right! It was a blast!

But there’s a totally different dynamic, especially when the man is just coming to realize he has a submissive side. I was a psych major in college, and one of the reasons I love writing BDSM is the whole emotional/psychological aspect of it.

I tried to put myself in my hero’s place. Would he be worried about what his friends would think if they found out? Would he feel like less of a man? Would he wonder why he wants this?

As this blog post gets published, I’ve just turned in the story, so I don’t know if it will be accepted. Cross your fingers, everyone!

We’ve got some awesome prizes on this hop, so do visit the other stops and be sure to enter to win the grand prize. I’m giving away a copy of Impact. To enter, just leave me a comment with the name of your favorite BDSM book. It doesn’t have to be one of mine, lol.

There are way to many favorites of mine to just choose one. However, I will list two of my favorite authors: Kallypso Masters and Cherise Sinclair. Both write great romances with BDSM and can make it easy to visualize the scenes even if you have no hands on experience (like me).
Thanks for the great post & giveaway.

Good luck with your book. Keeping everything crossed for you. It’s really tough to pick a favorite out of all the books I’ve read, I think it’s a toss up between Ice Queen and Natural Law, both books by Joey W Hill. This is a great hop and I know I’ll find some more books to add to my list.

Wishing you the best on your submission! I would really like to read this when it gets published.

One of my favorites is Shayla Black’s Wicked Ties. The combination of erotic and suspense was great. Jack Cole remains my ultimate Dom. And the first sentence of that book, to die for!

Mel Bourn says:

Good luck with your submission *fingers crossed*!! I have several BDSM books that I love. Right now I am completely smitten with the Dartmouth Cobras from Bianca Sommerland. Combining Hockey and hot BDSM sex!! Can’t get any better!!

I have so many that I like. There is one book, I think it may be more erotic than BDSM, that got me started. It’s titled “Fetish” by Sherri L. King. It is a book that I love to read over and over.

I’m just getting started reading books that are BDSM based. Most of what I’ve read in the past was very light with the story being based on something else. I have read Leah Brooke and loved them but my favorite so far is Kallypso Masters series. Thanks for the giveaway!

Carin W says:

I hope your submission is accepted I would love to read it. Most of the BDSM I have read is with male dom’s. I am going to have to go shopping at Ellora’s Cave again :O) I enjoyed Caught and I need to buy Impact.
Looking forward to reading your post later this week, Carin mawmom(at)gmail(dot)com

Cassandra Carr says:

Thanks so much, Carin! And I’m thinking about another holiday BDSM book which would also be FemDom.

Trix says:

I’m just beginning to wade into BDSM books now. My favorite so far is one I didn’t expect to be one…THE BEST VACATION THAT NEVER WAS by Lynn Lorenz. Even though in many ways it is a sweet m/m romance, there is a very strong BDSM element. Jason (the dom boyfriend) uses it in a loving (but firm!) way to show that he’ll always protect Troy. At the same time, he definitely edges Troy and pushes his boundaries…it’s really lovely!

rita says:

I loved “Collision” and “Impact” not to mention the “Buffalo Intimidators” series. I love any and all of Cherise Sinclair’s and Kallypso Master books.
Looking forward to your Domme book as I do admit to that’s my secret pleasure myself.

Cassandra Carr says:

Thank you Rita! I so appreciate reader support! :-)

Shelley Bagby says:

I like Collision and Impact. I also like Sylvia Day’s books. Thanks!

Cassandra Carr says:

Thank you Shelley! I appreciate the support!

My favorite BDSM book is Master of the Mountain, by Cherise Sinclair. Thanks for being part of the hop!

I love BDSM and this hop is a wonderful idea! I have read and reviewed many books from Ellora’s Cave and some of my favorites are the BDSM titles. I can’t wait to read some of yours. I have also just read 31 Flavors of Kink and loved it. :)

Happy Hopping!!!

Tina B says:

Good luck with your submission, Cassandra! I have not read a lot of BDSM books, but the ones I have read I LOVED! My favorite so far is Kallypso Masters series, Masters At Arms, but Nobody’s Hero is at the top. I also just recently read 31 Flavors of Kink by Cari Silverwood and Leia Shaw. I really enjoyed that one also but for the realness of it more than anything. Don’t get me wrong, it has some really HOT scenes though.
Thank you for the chance to read one of your stories. :)
